Listen for the call of India.

This is the conversation I was having with someone who is considering the Journey to Rishikesh with me next Spring. She was saying that she’s always wanted to go to India, but she wasn’t sure if the timing was right. I knew exactly what she meant and shared that in 2010, I had such a strong desire to travel to India, but wasn’t sure how I could make that happen.
It felt like I was considering a trip to the moon!
So I put it out to the Universe and said “If I’m supposed to get there, show me the way.” A few months later, my yoga teachers announced that they were leading a trip to Rishikesh and the price was $1100. A few weeks after that, my mother sent me a birthday check. Typically she sends me a check for the exact amount of my age, plus $1 to grow on, but this time she sent a check for $1000. I knew immediately that I was going to India! The following year, on 11/11/11, I joined my yoga teachers and 1100 students from around the world in Rishikesh for 11 days of deep immersion and study of yogic philosophy. That trip profoundly changed my life and I have been returning ever since.
Rishikesh; Journey of the Heart
March 28 – April 5
$2500

Last month I had the pleasure to return to Rishikesh for 8 days of rest and relaxation after leading a tour of Rajasthan. Rishikesh is a special place that feels like a hamlet contrasted with the big city hustle of Delhi. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas and situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges river, the air is alive with prayer. The city is home to many ashrams and yoga schools, and pilgrims and students come from all over the world to immerse in the study of asana, meditation and Hindu deities. The chai, the food, the friendly locals, the natural setting; nothing compares to this sacred city in northern India.
“India cannot be described, it can only be experienced.”
Like my dear friend and Rishikesh host, Govind, says “India cannot be described, it can only be experienced.” If you have always wanted to travel to India, perhaps you would like to join me and a small group (limited to 12) next March. We’ll be traveling to Rishikesh and spending 8 nights in Rishikesh, my soul home in India.
We’ll stay at my dear friend Govind’s hotel and you will feel nurtured and cared for. Every morning we will practice yoga and meditation, every day will have some sort of special activity, and there will always be down time built in for integration and rest.

I will show you my favorite spots, introduce you to my dear friends who will welcome you as family, and support you in discovering your own special places.
If you have never traveled to India, perhaps this is a sign that it’s time. If you have already been to Rishikesh, it might be time to go back again. Your friends are always waiting for you.

Traveling through India with Roxanna was an incredible and deeply enriching experience. She was thoughtful, organized, and wonderfully attuned to sharing the sights, sounds, and culture of India in her unique adventure-travel style. Roxanna has a rare ability to integrate travelers into the country’s history and its many spiritual traditions, creating a journey that feels both exciting and meaningful.
I learned so much more traveling with Roxanna—who truly understands how India works—than I ever could have on my own. Her insight and calm guidance allowed me to fully immerse myself in the experience without the stress of navigating the complexities of travel there.
The group she attracts reflects her spirit: curious, kind, and open-minded people who added so much to the journey. The combination of her leadership and the wonderful company made this trip unforgettable. I would absolutely travel with Roxanna again in the future. ~MR
