THE INVITATION

A yatra is a pilgrimage—a journey with spiritual purpose.

For 12 nights, journey with us from the foothills of the Himalayas in Rishikesh to Varanasi, following the sacred Ganga through two of India’s most spiritually significant cities.

We come as guests, not tourists. We travel in a small group, welcomed by people who call these places home, with opportunities to practice, explore, serve, connect, and experience India through relationship rather than from the sidelines.

INDIA IS THE CONTAINER

India is not simply the backdrop for this journey—it is the container that holds the experience.

In the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava—the Indian tradition of honoring the guest—we are welcomed by people who call these places home. Govind welcomes us to Rishikesh, Somit opens Varanasi, and Roxanna facilitates the pilgrimage.

THE JOURNEY

Rishikesh → Delhi → Varanasi

We begin with six nights in Rishikesh, immersed in yoga, meditation, the Ganga, sacred ceremonies, community, and time to explore and simply be. After a one-night pause in Delhi, we continue to Varanasi for five nights, where our experience deepens through devotion, cultural connection, and seva.

RISHIKESH — Sangha & Devotion

Rishikesh sits in the foothills of the Himalayas, where the Ganga flows clear and fast through the city. It is a place where yoga, devotion, and daily life exist side by side—and where our journey begins.

Our host is Govind, born and raised in Rishikesh, who welcomes us into his city and helps us experience it through the eyes of someone who knows it as home.

Our days include yoga and meditation, time beside the Ganga, sacred ceremonies, visits to temples and Vashishtha Cave, and opportunities to experience daily life in Rishikesh—with plenty of unstructured time to rest, wander, and explore at your own pace.

VARANASI — Devotion & Seva

Known as one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, Varanasi is considered the spiritual heart of India for Hindus. The entire rhythm of the city revolves around the Ganga and its famous riverfront ghats, where daily life, prayer, pilgrimage, and cremation unfold side by side.

Our host is Somit, born and raised in Varanasi, who opens the door to a more intimate experience of his city. Beyond the temples and ghats, we are welcomed into his community and invited to experience Varanasi through the eyes of someone who has deep roots here.

COME AS AMBASSADORS

In Varanasi, Somit invites us to learn about the after-school program he created for local children and to spend time with the children who are part of it.

This isn’t a tourist attraction. It is a community that Somit has built through relationship, care, and a commitment. Seva is a Sanskrit word meaning selfless service. We will spend time with the children, learn about their lives, and participate in the program through seva—not as outsiders who have come to save, but as guests who have been invited to share.

And we will arrive carrying something with us.

Already, a small community here in California has begun to respond. Five refurbished laptops are being donated to the program, giving the children access to technology and new opportunities for learning.

This is what it means to come as an ambassador.
