October 31 – November 9, 2026
Experience India at its Most Magical!
- Oil lamps glowing.
- Temple bells ringing
- Fireworks lighting the desert sky.
Join me for an unforgettable journey through the royal state of Rajasthan during Diwali — India’s Festival of Lights.
Diwali is one of the most sacred and joyful celebrations in India. Homes and temples are illuminated with thousands of tiny oil lamps. Families gather in prayer and celebration. Fireworks burst across the night sky as people welcome light, abundance, and new beginnings.
To experience Diwali in India is something truly special.
And to experience it within a small circle of travelers, guided with care and intention, is even more meaningful.
This is not simply a trip to India.
It is a journey into color, devotion, beauty, and the living heartbeat of an ancient culture.
A Journey Through the Royal Land of Rajasthan
Rajasthan is one of the most visually stunning regions in all of India — a land of desert forts, vibrant markets, ornate palaces, and timeless traditions.
Together we will explore some of the most captivating places in North India, including:
- The vibrant “Pink City” of Jaipur, with its grand palaces, colorful bazaars, and magnificent forts
- The sacred town of Pushkar, home to one of the only Brahma temples in the world and a peaceful lake surrounded by ancient ghats
- The romantic lakeside city of Udaipur, often called the Venice of the East, with its white marble palaces and shimmering waters
- Bustling markets filled with textiles, spices, jewelry, and handcrafted treasures
- Ancient temples, desert landscapes, and the rich traditions of Rajasthan
Everywhere you look, Rajasthan is alive with color and story.
And during Diwali, the entire country glows with celebration.

Over the course of 9 days, we will travel by private bus, jeep, tuk-tuk and plane. We will visit palaces, holy temples and grand forts. Lounge poolside at Heritage Hotels, view the hustle and bustle of India via rickshaw, drink chai and examine gorgeous textiles and jewelry, and immerse in the Rajasthani culture and warm hospitality; learning of the rich and varied history of this land and the special holiday of Diwali.
We will meet in Delhi and depart the morning of October 31 to Jaipur, the “Pink City.” In the bustling streets of Jaipur, you’ll be entranced by the grandeur of Amer Fort, the intricate beauty of Hawa Mahal, and the lively bazaars brimming with colorful textiles and handcrafted jewelry. We will spend 2 nights in Jaipur.

Next up is the lotus of Rajasthan – Pushkar – a sacred town that pulses with spiritual energy, where the serene Pushkar Lake and the iconic Brahma Temple invite reflection and devotion amidst the vibrant atmosphere of local fairs and festivals. Travelers from the most recent tour loved Pushkar so much, we added 2 additional nights, making it a total of 4 nights in Pushkar, with one day completely open for rest, relaxation by the pool or exploration.

The final city we visit in Rajasthan is Udaipur. Udaipur during Diwali feels like stepping into a living painting—every palace, balcony, and lakeside ghat shimmering with golden light. As dusk settles, the City of Lakes glows with rows of diyas reflecting across the water, and families gather in courtyards to celebrate with laughter, sweets, and sparkling fireworks. Wander through the old city’s winding lanes and you’ll hear temple bells, smell marigolds and incense, and feel the warmth of a festival that is both vibrant and deeply sacred. Experiencing Diwali in Udaipur is witnessing Rajasthan at its most magical—a celebration of light that wraps the whole city in beauty and joy. We will spend 3 nights in Udaipur, celebrating the magic of Diwali on our final evening.
Why This Journey Is Special
Rajasthan holds a particularly special place in my heart.
Over the past 16 years of traveling to India, I have returned again and again to the beautiful cities of Jaipur, Pushkar, and Udaipur. Even when I travel to India for my own personal retreat time, I often find myself drawn back to one of these places.
There is something truly magical about Rajasthan — the vibrant colors, the ornate palaces, the desert landscapes, and the sense of timeless beauty that seems to exist around every corner.
I love treating myself to the beauty and quiet luxury of these places — wandering palace courtyards, watching the sunset over Lake Pichola in Udaipur, or sitting peacefully beside the sacred lake in Pushkar.
Over the years I have developed relationships with local guides and trusted partners who help make these journeys feel both seamless and deeply authentic.
Together we create experiences that allow you to experience India not simply as a tourist, but as a welcomed guest.
This year’s journey is especially magical because it coincides with Diwali — India’s Festival of Lights, one of the most joyful and beautiful celebrations in the country.
Cities and villages glow with thousands of lamps, temples are filled with prayer, and fireworks illuminate the night sky as families gather in celebration.
Many people have said to me, “I’ll come with you next year.”
But journeys have their own timing.
Next year I will be leading a pilgrimage to Peru, and I do not currently plan to offer this Rajasthan Diwali journey again in 2027.
If India has been quietly calling to you, this may be the year to answer.
